The Ajaccio Open rapid 2006 tournament took place in France 30th-31st October. The winner Vladimir Malaniuk won two games (Milov, Gritsak) and made two draws (Kasimdzhanov, Drozdovskij) against strong players in his favourite Dutch Defence.
