The Smith & Williamson British Chess Championship 2003 took place 20th July - 2nd August in Edinburgh.

The Montreal International 2003 took place 23rd July - 3rd August in Canada.

The Malmo Masters 2003 took place 28th July - 6th August in Sweden.

The Olomouc Chess Summer 2003 took place 30th July - 7th August in Czech Republic. There were organized 3 round-robin IM tournaments, FIDE open (semifinal of Czech Championship), seniors open and youngsters open.
