Carlsen - Nepomniachtchi 0-1. The Queen's Pawn Game. As usual Ian grabbed a pawn and then won, here after Magnus's fatal mistake 36.Qc6?. 30.cxb6 was better.

Nakamura - Caruana 1/2. The Nimzo-Indian Defence.
So - Karjakin 1/2. The Bogo-Indian Defence.
Vachier-Lagrave - Anand 1/2. The Italian Game.

Round 7, 9.12.2017
Nepomniachtchi - Anand 1-0. The English Opening. Ian tried to attack in the opening with 7.g4. A complicated game. Here Ian grabbed a pawn in the middlegame and won again.
Karjakin - Vachier-Lagrave 0-1. The Sicilian Defence. Maxime outplayed the rival in the ending.
Caruana - So 1/2. The Spanish Game.
Aronian - Nakamura 1/2. The Queen's Gambit Declined. Levon had a strong knight in the centre, so somewhat better chances.
Carlsen - Adams 1-0. The Bird Opening 1.f4, something like the Dutch Defence. Michael could have played 13...Rec8, or 14...Rac8, with a clear edge. However, after mistakes he got a good endgame. But Magnus equalized the game with 36.Ne3 and even won after an error, 51...Kb8?, 51...Kc6 was better.

Adams - Nepomniachtchi 0-1. The Sicilian Defence. Ian grabbed a pawn in the endgame.
Nakamura - Carlsen 1/2. The Scotch Game. Hikaru won a knight.
So - Aronian 1/2. The Spanish Game. 30...Qc2 was better.
Vachier-Lagrave - Caruana 1/2. The Russian Defence.
Anand - Karjakin 1/2. The English Opening.

Nepomniachtchi - Karjakin 1/2. The Nimzo-Indian Defence.
Caruana - Anand 1-0. The Spanish Game. A sharp fight: Fabiano attacked on the kingside, Vishy counterattacked on the queenside. But after mistakes Anand lost.
Aronian - Vachier-Lagrave 1/2. The Gruenfeld Defence. Maxime sacrificed a pawn and had slightly better chances.
Carlsen - So 1/2. The Spanish Game. Magnus obtained a small advantage in the endgame.
Adams - Nakamura 1/2. The Sicilian Defence.
